RS Lesson Summary March 1st

Sister DeFreitas gave a lesson on removing fear from our lives. She opened with Mark 4:37-40.

Sometimes our fears limit our progress. It's important to do small things that expose us to those fears so we can overcome them. Fears can be spiritual. Callings can be intimidating. Sometimes we have a fear of failing, or we doubt our skills. We have anxieties. We need to remember the Lord called us to that calling for a specific purpose. We just need to try our best. He will 'qualify us' in our efforts.

Missionary work is often very daunting to members. Why are we afraid to share what we feel to be so important? In the information age, it is very easy to share what we have, social media makes missionary work very accessible. We can share with our friends the gospel with positive messages. We need to remember Elder Bednar's invitation to 'come and see'. The invitation is what matters. Everyone has their agency to choose to accept the invitation. L. Tom Perry said that we need to be a righteous example. In 1 Timothy it talks about being an example of the believers. Good works do credit to the Savior and His church.

Sometimes we fear the future. The world seems to be getting more and more wicked everyday. It is very frightening to think what our children as adults will have to face. Elder Boyd K Packer said that 'we are not blind to the conditions of the world'. Be of good cheer and do your best. Live the gospel and be a light to the world. We can strengthen our homes and families and that will give us confidence as we face the future.
